Pressurizing the cylinder with water to a specified test pressure to verify structural integrity. Required by NFPA 10 and DOT.
How often is it required?
Water and CO2 units every 5 years. Dry chemical stored-pressure units every 12 years. Any damaged cylinder must be tested regardless of age.
